Dimna is an island just southwest of Ulsteinvik, connected to Hareidlandet by a narrow bridge. The island is roughly 9 square kilometres and has around 1,350 inhabitants, many of whom live in the village of Sundgota. Dimna is known for a strong sports culture through the club Dimna IL.

Om Dimna
Dimna has been inhabited since ancient times, with very old settlement traces found at Dimnasund. The island was long a purely agricultural and fishing community. In recent times, Dimna IL has gained fame far beyond the region, not least through world-class athlete Karsten Warholm who has roots in the club. Sundgota is the largest village on the island with around 900 inhabitants.
